My 13th map to date is an illustrated map of France.
I’ve always wanted to illustrated a map of France because it’s such a beautiful country with equally beautiful food. I travelled around France very briefly a few years ago and I remember all of the delicious and beautiful French food I ate so since I started illustrating maps I’ve always wanted to illustrated France but over the last several years I’ve been crazy busy with work, so I’ve only now been able to create it.
As you know I’m a big foodie! I love food and two of my favourite things in the world are traveling food, so whenever I go travelling I’m always on the lookout for delicious local delicacies and of course I’ll always eat them.
So you can see I’ve researched a lot of yummy French foods from different areas and cities. There are so many delicious food in France and sadly I don’t have enough space to put every single dishes or desserts on this map so I only picked some of better well known or the food I like for this map.
Please note as always with my maps, they are not 100% geographically correct. Please don’t be disappointed if a favourite food from your region is missing or is slightly out of place. Sometimes things can’t be in the perfect place as I’m limited with space and sometimes information I find from the internet may misplace things. I create my maps as a celebration of things I love about a country. They’re meant to bring joy and happiness to people so don’t take it too seriously. Also note this is a map of France; not Germany, not Spain, no other European country, this is a map of just France.
I also sell my map illustration prints and postcards in my shop on this website and my Etsy shop, so if you like my work and you would love to bring them to your home, please have a look at both of my shops.
I’m thinking about create map of Argentina, Brazil, Canada and Finland next. How do you think? I would love to hear your thought!
