I created a whole series of marketing materials for one of the National Museum of Scotland‘s special exhibitions called “Vikings!” as part of a project I have been working on. As an illustrator, I always have to think about and design myself some interesting projects to work on and I’ve always had a fascination about vikings. Also my daughter Amelia absolutely loves going to the museum with me so when I saw this exhibition I just had to do some kind of illustration.
The National Museum of Scotland really is an excellent venue which I’ve visited many times, whether from visiting exhibitions, attending briefings or even helping my husband out with weddings there. Amelia also as mentioned loves this venue and she’s been there many times. Even now a year on she’s completely mesmerized by the big clock and the dinosaurs. There are many things for her to see and do there although she always for some reason (baby thing) stops to blow raspberries on the glass cabinets (sorry museum!). Museums in general are absolutely fantastic places for children to visit, no matter their age.
On a couple occasions I’ve talked to other mums there and they have all been really surprised how much their children have enjoyed themselves there. Of course parents have doubts about taking their children to venues but you really should take your children there.
Back to my museum project, I created a full colour brochure, a Travel pack and journal and set of three A3 posters. Here are the images of them. 🙂
Brochure:
The brochure was created using Illustrator on an A3 sized document. Once printed it will be folded several times to produce an A5 brochure.
My marketing material: “Little Adventurers Travel Pack and Journal”
