Valentines Day
January 17, 2022

Valentine’s Day. I realise this is my first blog post in about nine months and this isn’t because I haven’t been working or doing anything illustration related, far from it! My last post was about a map of Italy I created but since then I’ve created another dozen or so maps, many seasonal products for Easter, Spring, Christmas etc, I’ve also created food collections including Japanese food, Italian, Breakfast, Condiments. Then there’s a halloween collection, sticker collections, washi tapes, literally dozens of things I could and have should have blogged about.

So why blogging today? Well, because honestly I should blog more. It’s great for website SEO but I also do enjoy blogging and writing about my work, so my first blog post in absolute ages is about Valentines Day. I created a whole Valentine’s Day collection which includes 11 postcards, one planner sticker sheet and a regular shaped sticker sheet.

During 2021 I discovered how to make cut out cards so 9 of these cards are cut-out (or shaped depending on which term you want to use) and two are regular rectangle shaped cards. Below are some images you can click on which will take you to either the collection or to individual products.

As well as these new Valentines Day postcards I also finally re-photographed a number of older postcards. Earlier in my product photography career I outsourced my postcards to a company in Taiwan (my home country) but I discovered the best solution for postcards was to produce them myself. Ok, so outsourced postcards are cheaper to produce overall but the quality is rubbish compared to what I do nowadays.

My postcards are printed on a fine-art double-sided cotton rag papers (traditionally used for fine art photographic prints) which have brilliant colour reproduction and are absolutely lovely to touch and write on.

So below, first is a picture of my whole Valentines Day collection followed by a few example product photos and then beneath that are some re-photographed map postcards. Hope you like everything and I promise to update my blog more often with new products.
